LCI presented at a back-to-school press conference the new features that will be put in place on the air from Monday.

New set, new decor, new look and new editorial approach: it is a real bet on the future that the TF1 group's 24-hour news channel is attempting.

INTERVIEW

After France Télévisions and BFMTV, it's LCI's turn to present the novelties of its comeback.

They will be visible to viewers from Monday.

"It's a new LCI" promise the teams of the TF1 group's continuous news channel.

On the program: new set, new decor, new look (ie graphics, jingles, sound) and a new editorial approach too.

The channel wants to offer more facts and less controversy.

Result: more reports, more news sections, less talk, and less opinion debates.

A larger place should be given to the image.

A real change in this year of the presidential campaign, as confirmed by Thierry Thuillier, director of information for the TF1 group.

"It seemed to us the essential moment to do it, because there will be strong news, but also because our country is at a time when large groups like TF1, even private, must show that they believe and invest in the information, ”he explains.

"We give journalists the means to do their job, whether it is in decryption, in verifying information, fighting fake news or big reporting."

A completely renewed morning

LCI is also changing the grid, with the use of many mixed presenter duets. This illustrates the desire to put a little more smile on the air, with "a more positive approach", in the words of the channel's teams. A visible change especially in the morning, completely renewed by the arrival of Stefan Etcheverry, from BFMTV, and Hélène Mannarino, from Europe 1.

The duo starts on Monday.

And he intends to bring his touch of good humor, while informing viewers.

"We are super happy to be able to put some life into the news", Stefan Etcheverry rejoices at our microphone.

"We're going to generate info times where we have to be serious, and times when we will be able to let go and talk to people watching us, quite simply. Morning is not a headache, it's to take life as it is, without telling yourself that you are in a TV studio. "

"The goal is to be welcoming, informative and close, to bring the regions to life directly, to follow stories that we are not used to hearing, and to get out of Paris ", adds Hélène Mannarino. "That's what we want to do with this morning, with a team spirit that we value a lot." Start of the new LCI grid on Monday morning.
